Jennifer Kurrie

Jennifer Kurrie joined BergDavis Public Affairs in 2007 following a ten year career in government affairs in Washington, DC and San Francisco, CA.   As Vice President of Public Affairs she is responsible for day-to-day management of clients, business development and government and community relations.
     
Since joining the firm, Ms. Kurrie has successfully managed projects for commercial and residential developers such as Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Republic Urban Properties in addition to providing strategic counsel to a few of the firm’s pro bono clients including Mission Housing and the San Francisco Botanical Garden.  She continues to work in partnership with Ms. Berg and Ms. Davis on project management and business development opportunities.

Prior to BergDavis, Ms. Kurrie was Sr. Manager Government Affairs & Public Policy for Gap Inc., one of the largest specialty retailers in the US.  At Gap Inc. she specialized in healthcare, tax, and privacy issues at the local, state and federal levels of government in addition to running their state and local government affairs and public policy programs.  She also has vast experience on international trade issues.       

Ms. Kurrie joined Gap Inc. after more than two years with the National Retail Federation, where she also specialized in healthcare and employment issues in addition to product stewardship, legal reform and Internet sales tax collection.  Prior to working with the retail industry she served as legislative assistant for the Independent Telephone and Telecommunications Alliance, communications director for The Center for A Sustainable Economy and as a legislative aide to Congressman Bart Stupak (MI – 1).    

A Michigan native, Ms. Kurrie earned her B.S. in public policy and public management from Indiana University.
